Nesting November
Canvas, Cribs & Construction: the countdown is on... but not just for a baby...
November will forever be ingrained in my brain as the most perfect month from here onwards - the month I will finally meet my baby girl <3 the leaves are falling and it’s just a waiting game now until she is in my arms!!
Home
Pregnancy really knocked me off the bandwagon when it came to finishing our reno - pregnancy (and the nausea that has slipped back at the end of this third trimester) has been 100 times harder than I ever anticipated it to be… so all of my moodboards have been sat collecting dust but it’s time to dust them off and get back to it.
Our bedroom has come together and feels like a calm oasis amongst the chaos of everything else that’s going on - and how crowded every crevice is as we move things from room to room to finish off spaces. I ordered myself the Stillness print in A0 for above our bed, and I just need to get the perfect frame made for it before it goes up - then that will be the final piece of the puzzle for this room I think! It’s so calming in here, especially with the view of the forest behind the garden through the wide windows.
Studio
I finally got the call up to start the art studio a few weeks before my due date… I am not a normal or logical person so I said yes let’s start. I’m super excited at the thought of being able to paint from home and also maybe hold workshops here in the future!!
I am currently without doors, windows and flooring but the foundations are in and it is being built which is craaaazy! I was starting to think it wasn’t going to happen at all but now I am glued to Facebook marketplace to find some gems… I wonder what’s going to come first - the studio or the baby? Place your bets.
Currently struggling to find secondhand windows because who knew a big bit of glass surrounded by wood was like 3/4K??!… no thank you!! Things sell so quickly on secondhand sites, so I need to be more on it. I also missed out on a virtually brand-new kiln that was just around the corner from me, but I’m manifesting that an even more perfect one will crop up when the time is right as that is not a priority right now (although I do really miss messing around with clay).
Some secondhand pieces I've already bought for the studio:

Art
As soon as the art studio is up I am going to have to christen it during nap times with a little series of paintings. I feel a real pull to be painting again, and I wonder if that’s to do with the huge change that’s coming orrrr the fact that I haven’t painted in a while? The below more abstract paintings are calling my name at the moment, so I’m dying to put some new colour palettes together. It’s probably to do with the seasons that we’ve entered but I’m loving a burgundy/deep rich purple element to my works at the moment.
Summer Dance and Summer Fields are both available as giclée prints on my website.

I’ll still be sending orders out, as my lovely mum helps package paintings, and most of my prints are now sent directly by my printers — so not much should change on that front while I’m on a self-employed version of “maternity leave”!
As a thank you for being here, you can use the code NEWSLETTER15 for 15% off of anything that you may have your eye on.
Wishlist
I alwaaaays have a wishlist on the go, and it’s mostly secondhand pieces to be fair as I do love an antique piece, but I also have my eye on the below… because who doesn’t need a cake stand with pearls on it?!
Links to all pieces can be found here (*some affiliated links).

The next newsletter that I write I think I’ll be somebody’s mummy ahhhh..!!! Until then, have a lovely rest of your autumn <3
Lots of love,
Harlie x
